Rediscovering Calamba Laguna

Rizal Descendant Art Exhibit

Last December 26, having a family gathering at San Pablo Laguna, got a text message inviting us an opening of art exhibit at SM City Calamba‘s Cyberzone area this coming December 27. They have also sent me an email message for the invitation as shown below:

The SM City Calamba‘s exhibit entitled “The Flames That Run Through My Veins” – a Rizal Descendant showcased Ms. Ika Laurel Loewen art masterpiece.  For me, it is a great privileged me and hubby was fortunate to be invited to witness the opening ceremony of the said art gallery.  Together with the management of SM City Calamba and group of Ms. Loewen, showcasing these collections was a brilliant idea to spread awareness about the importance of art.

The said gathering exhibit started with an introduction of the speakers at the program proper and ribbon cutting that highlighted the opening of the art exhibit.

Part of the Cyberzone area become the showcase of art paintings which added to the gallery of attraction not only to the mall goers but to the people around who were enthusiast to hold paint brush and mix colors or simply staring and be amazed with it.

Hopefully, with this kind of endeavor will give opportunity and eye-opener to the youth today to truly appreciate art.  What more, it has to start where Rizal born – here in Calamba.  With the effort started to SM and to its descendant, other community like academe and government must go hand-in-hand to promote it.  What more, we as parents can start right thru our home by introducing art for them to accept the value of it.

Again, thanks SM Calamba for the invitation and sharing this notable yet historic project.
