Rediscovering Calamba Laguna

Solenad Nuvali in Sta. Rosa Laguna

Instead of going to Alabang or going to SM Sta. Rosa, our family decided to explore nearby places like the new Solenad Nuvali, green development area located  at Sta. Rosa Laguna.

When we were passing here last two years before going to Tagaytay, this vicinity was an empty grass field.  Now  it turned into a man-made lake called Lake Evozone with commercial area around.

Even it is a commercial area, there are still many activities  around the place which is not typical things to do when you are in the mall like strolling or eating out.

One can feed the koil right at the lake where food is  P 10.00 per pack.  We even took a video how these fishes rush up just to catch the food.

Renting a bike for P 60.00 per hour is also a try.  If you plan to stroll the place with a bike, better to be here early in the morning, 6:00 am perhaps to avoid the heat of the sun by 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Maybe you can also bike around in the evening.

We also ride the water taxi around which is P 30.00 per person.   Giving the kids a thrill to ride around the lake is a new experience with them.

There is a pumping fountain in the middle of the lake as part of the attraction.

Italliani’s, Yellow Cab, David’s Tea House, Starbucks, Brother’s Burger and other commercial establishment started to sprout within the area.

Conti’s is already offering breakfast not only their usual menu at the metro.  Still, we settle with their salad special, mango bravo and coffee which is refillable.

There is also on-going mass every Sunday scheduled 10:00 am which can be an attraction to the visitors.  The sound system is great during the mass as also the remarks of the priest which is not difficult for him to encourage people to celebrate it with him.

Anyway, since this is a PEZA zone area,  one can expect more buildings, shops and a central business district which will be located here in the future.

So why settle to other places like Serendra or Alabang if you will experience the same serenity here at Nuvali, Sta. Rosa with added activities that would capture its nature?

Rediscover nature at its best,

I still remember 3 years ago when me and my wife first came to visit the pre-selling of Avida Settings Nuvali 5 mins drive from Solenad going thru Montecito. Road was not yet developed and it’s full of mud. I was really disappointed with the location of the site but our agent always telling us that Ayala has a big plan for the development of the area, we then decided to purchase a house and lot. Now we are happy with our investment the community is really amazing. Para kang nasa ibang bansa. We plan to move there this coming May 2010. 🙂 Thanks to AYALA.

I’m inviting you to visit Solenad Nuvali every 3rd weekend of the month for the GREEN WEEKEND AT SOLENAD – an organic and artisan community fair. It has a bazaar, an organic market (c/o Mara’s organic market from Legaspi market), food market with participation of Herbana Farms (the country’s largest authentic organic farm), and plenty of pocket activities for the family to enjoy – kiddie shows & activities, arts & crafts, organic gardening lectures, organic cooking demos by Chef Sau del Rosario & Italianni’s, and live band performances. It’s something people of the South can anticipate and look forward to every month! For inquiries or for interested vendors, please contact me at 0917-5591333.

from calamba, take the jeepney going to balibago complex (if you are commuting). from there, you can either ride another jeepney going to tagaytay or the tricycle. there’s the jeepney/tricycle terminal beside the wet market at the back of reysal grocery. the jeepney fare to nuvali costs 13 pesos. the tricycle (if not special fare) costs about 14 or so. if special fare, it costs about 70 pesos. if going back, there are jeepneys until 9pm. if scarce, you can always take the tricycle.
